Any bids on anything? 4 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Is it just me, or are there active bids on almost nothing on the site? Has anyone actually made any sales? Can we find out all items that are actively being bid on (have 1 or more bids)? Or the history of how many sales any of the artists have made on ArtbyUs.com?

Hi Sadingrid,

you can see which items have sold above a certain $ amount over the past 60 days by clicking on the Browse Specifics > Recently Sold link on the front page.
Keep in mind that ArtByUs.com is a collective effort of all our users, and not just a large company trying to shovel money into our pockets - we offer a large range of free marketing tools for artists to drive traffic to their individual listings, but of course we cannot force anybody to take advantage of that.

For what it's worth - I have personally sold over 40 of my paintings on ArtByUs.com (not recently though, because I haven't had enough time to list more work - over 40 art shows offline last year does require quite a bit of insane work time), so yes, it does work, but it also requires a bit of personal involvement in the process. Fortunately though, it does NOT require a boatload of money and fees to do so. We do quite a bit of marketing for the site and the listings, so traffic is here.

Hope this helps you out a bit - do let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

Hey, there's something a little fishy on the "browse recently sold" list. the top three sold painting (all over $500) were all bought by the same "buyer" using Buy It Now but all of those paintings have all been relisted.

That happens on Ebay alot...with some malicious creep that for some reason presses Buy It now on tons of artists listings and then doesn't pay. Can't figure out the motive behind that sort of thing...but at least Ebay allows the seller the option of requiring immediat payment with Paypal for Buy It Nows. It puts a stop to this sort of tomfoolery.

Does ABU have that immediat payment required option for BIN?

I had a bid on a painting of mine yesterday and was mildly suspicious so I checked the recently sold list and found 5 paintings were sold to STEVE ARNOLD ... this is a scam .. I dealt with this ASS about a year ago.. BEWARE BEWARE ... I am now suspicious about my sale ...

We do not have an "immediate payment required option" because eBay owns PayPal so they can do this. We do not want to force artists to use one payment provider over another....
