ArtByUs.com Radio Campaign

Good Morning from the Marketing Desk!

We just want to give you a quick inside some of the marketing efforts we do at the moment.

Besides our online adverting eforts, we run a new radio campaign in multiple states to promote your artworks.

They commercials ran in AL, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KY, MA, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV and WY. Traffic was up but in these economic times, it is important for artists to create strong listings that encourage visitors to buy.

If you are doing listings and not selling, lay the groundwork for future sales. Pass out business cards and collect addresses for your mailing list. If you have a new listings coming up and sales with your last few listings have been slow, send out coupons for your listings. I'm always shocked to see people using a coupon to buy a $2000 piece of artwork, but it' has happened to Conni a lot. Just like you, people like good deals. If you're sending out e-mail newsletters, have links back to your ArtByUs.com listing.

It is important to create excitement and a positive buzz, and you will sell. If your listing sounds like you are bored, chances are you are boring the visitors as well.

Appearance is important to a lot of people. If your listings are full of negative energy, your sales are going to be few and far between. The more time you invest in your listing, the greater the chance of selling.

Smile and Create!

A Glimpse into the artist's world

People not involved in art rarely get to see where beautiful art is created - they are often surprised at some of the spaces artists work in. The studios are as varied as cramped clothes closets, overloaded kitchen tables, huge empty gallery spaces, converted garages, re-adapted storage containers and studio-in-a-box-es.

Amazingly enough, no matter where the art was created, it can reach out an touch someone else's life in some form.

We've started a thread where you can come and see where our artists create the unique work you see on ArtByUs.com - if you are an artist, come and share your space of vision, so others can see for themselves where great art is born.

Here is the link to that thread - as always in our forums, comments are welcome!

Spring is in the air!

Finally, the trees are blooming, the grass is growing, and we actually saw the first Butterfly of the season outside yesterday - that means winter is over (hopefully) and it's time to pull out the tools and start those projects that were shelved for the winter.

And of course, it's time to refresh your art collection as well. Changing the art on your wall is a fast, easy and effective way to restyle your whole room, without spreading out drop cloths and pulling out the paint brushes.

Find something light-hearted, easy-going to lift your mood - buying artwork you love is the first step towards a great collection that won't go out of style for you.

Naturally, you'll probably want to also match some color of your room - but try something contrasting for a change - it just might be that little kick of color that makes a room a Niiiice Room.

If you don't like putting holes in your walls, try using industrial strength Velcro Brand Hook and Loop tape. This does NOT work well on brick walls, or uneven surfaces, but regular painted walls hold it pretty well. It makes attaching paintings to your wall speedy - and you can just scrcchhhhhht them off, and stick on a new one when you feel like a change of art is due.

So, no more excuses about "not enough wall space" - double, triple or quadruple your space by rotating your collection, it's fun, and makes for a great conversation topic with guests to your home.
