How do I write a good listing title? PDF Print E-mail
As you probably know, we provide search engines with a direct link to all of your art listings on ArtByUs.com. This helps to get more potential buyers to your listing. But this is only one part of being found.

Compelling and searchable titles are crucial to successful online art listings. Let's face it: If you can't grab the art buyer with your title, your art auction will likely get lost in the shuffle.

Here are some tips on how to create better titles and to give your auctions the visibility and presence they deserve:

  • Think of an auction title as your one and only chance to invite potential customers. If it is an oil painting - include the words "oil painting", as well as the theme of the artwork and the name of the artist.
  • Don't waste precious title real estate with words like "WOW" or "L@@K!" Art buyers aren't looking for these terms, so you are much better off using every character of your title to describe your artwork.
  • Consider whether the words used will serve as good keywords. Try to think like the buyers of your art. What would they search for when looking your art?
  • Make sure there are no spelling mistakes.
  • Don't mislead your viewers.
  • Use all 60 characters you have for the title. Your title is like a first impression. Make it a good one.
